Getting installed application list on OSX

Get the list of installed applications on a mac in a window:

About this mac -> More Info -> Software -> Applications

shows the dialog below.

Notice that all apps have name, version, kind (intel\PPC\universal) and 64\32 bits data fields.

In order to get the same info on the Terminal the command to be typed is

system_profiler SPApplicationsDataType

pretty neat uh? 🙂
